Built one at a time in my shop, the Heritage Series Large Flag measures approximately 19” tall x 37” wide x 1.5” thick, giving it a substantial presence without overwhelming the space around it. Each stripe and star is individually carved to capture the natural movement of an American flag in the wind, creating depth, shadows nd subtle variations throughout the piece. Designed to be more than wall decor, it becomes a natural talking point, a piece that draws attention from across the room and rewards a closer look at the craftsmanship behind it.
After carving, I burn and brush the wood to bring out the grain and add texture before applying a weathered finish that compliments the depth of the waves. The result is a substantial American flag with the character of something made by hand - not reproduces on a production line.
Because I build each flag individually, no two will ever be exactly alike. Wood grain, carving and finish will naturally vary from piece to piece.
